I relate to everything you have said. You pointed to the best software as well (but was definitely missing Magnific). I've been very contemplative lately as I see more and more tech evolve so fast, it constantly puts me in this mode of, ok, what should I do LMFAO, like how am I going to push this business forward with all of these changes, which niches do I pursue, should I be more versatile, but then who hires the master of none. I constantly am thinking, how am I going to adapt and evolve with all kinds of people losing their jobs or supplementing their high paying jobs with video/photo gigs. When you have this massive saturation of people wanting to create content for whatever reasons, its hard to see it as an advantage to being in the video field when content is so absurdly consumed in the most unhealthy (and cheapest) packaging possible AND it's getting easier for anyone to make passable professional looking content. The ability to tell stories doesn't exist as much anymore and that is essentially what we are being paid to do, the deliverables aren't long enough for us to deliver enough of our true value. So now, I'm contemplating learning a lot of VFX stuff, because I can creatively concept very short eye catching shit with real people and professional equipment that I've already bought (clients), but now I've changed my entire approach to content, dumbing it down, and making it hook as fast as possible, all to better assimilate into the idiocracy we are becoming. I tend to always be a little skeptical or negative, something I always work on, but I do sense some disturbing trends forming and AI is in its infancy, that's the scariest part. Really so true about the ego involved with thinking that we are special and machines can't do what we do, the human condition at it's finest. Makes me want to become a licensed counselor LMAO.
i have this kind of shoot this coming weekend. Im glad i watched this beautiful guide. Thank you
Don't come at me for this but could you get away with using a projector on a screen in the back? 🤔 Wouldn't it be cheaper to use 1 really good projector than 3 tvs? Does anyone use projectors? If not, why not?
Saw the Chanel logo and thought this was Ecamm
I’m not sure how I feel about it, but I do know that we as creatives have to find a way to work with it. It is here to stay and nothing we can do about it! Humans love change as long as everything stays the same!!!
it's amazing but not easy for an interview. I think: how to concentrate and extract the best interview with so many gadgets and lights and people... ?
well, more proof that you can't trust lost of the videos on the internet. lol
Do you know how to set ip up with the rodecaster duo?
It didn’t look real.
I took a shot after every time you said "a little bit". I am now drunk, but I also have an understanding of how to light interviews.
The battle isn't with ai. We can still enjoy its capabilities, as its 1’s and 0’s are fun. The true conflict lies with the influential forces that teach us art is only valuable if purchased. In a world obsessed with efficiency and profit, artists fear being replaced by AI's superior speed, quality, and cost. The real fear is, "How will this define me by economic metrics?" Even if my art is slow, imperfect, or unconventional, its value is in creating without strings attached. God has still handed over talents for me to wield, whether that pays the bills or not, I choose to enjoy wielding it wisely.
Late to the party. Glad to see you uploading to UA-cam again. Yes, or how I stopped worrying and learned to love AI. I have a lot of thoughts, maybe I make a video? Ultimately, the TLDR; you still have to be creative to make creative AI imagery. Sure, the bar gets lowered in “making” things, but don’t fall into the trap of thinking you are not the one inspiring the creation of these things. That’s our job ultimately. Speaking of, I even see some creatives struggling to “make” ai art. It’s a new skill. I don’t think our jobs go away. However, I do think we need to be better to compete with the convenience of it. Which, who knows if we can win that fight. I definitely don’t think we go down without swinging. Time will tell. Anyway, like I said I have a lot of thoughts but I don’t think you need to worry. But definitely don’t ignore it or dismiss it like some are doing.
If it's an out of focus backdrop, would a projector do the job - or does that cause problems because of the brightness (of the screen) and contrast?
شكرل كم
Love this
I have an a6300 with a Tamron f2.8 28-75 lens, I can not figure out how to get my footage and colors to look that good. Any tips or settings would be appreciated. Thanks!
Great !!!
Thank you so much😊
This is the type of tutorial you seen in 2000s late DVD , I Love it !
This may be overly optimistic and slight copium being that my future career is at stake. But I feel like there is still going to be a market for REAL stories from REAL people. Some parts of the market are going to disappear, and some niche talents are going to be wiped out, but in a world that is going to be filled with fakeness I feel some brands are going to have to focus on reality. (I'm definitely going to have to get a real job in 10yrs instead).
I lost my job at a TV station due to robots. It sucks. In the long run I believe people will always prefer the real to the artificial. I also believe that technological advances have always created more jobs than they have replaced. It will take some time to sort out, but it always does.
AI art is horrible!!!! i hate it so much. it looks so cheap and horrible. and takes away the creatively and realness from a real photographer/videographer/model
Honestly? It seems like too much work to not just buy a led screen panel.
What a massive amount of work to achieve such a mediocre result. It all made sense when you mentioned this was a government project. It’s like the photographic equivalent of a $20,000 U.S. DoD hammer.
But the TVs cost a few thousand not 20 thousand and we’ve used it for enough jobs to pay for it 10 times over
Suscribed bro, took notes
You can get a cheap 720p LED projector and you don't even have to mask the borders.
But the shadows go grey in the image and it looks bad. We’ve tried
Very helpful. Not subsribing.
You can get LESS depth of field, but yeah.
Wouldn’t a regular room like that be MUCH CHEAPER, EASIER?!?! This makes no sense for this scenario. I can see it for France or Italy
Sorry. I asked too early. 😂
Probably the best articulation of how artists feel. It's crazy to see human creativity really took off in the 1900s and about 100 years or so in and it's already being replaced. Millions of years of evolution and we see this era flash by in the blink of an eye. I didn't expect this level of Ai to exist until I was old. I feel for the youth right now, what's the point.
XDXD
Smart
@Epic Light Media i have one question, why arent you using a EVF? or in which situations do you switch to an viewfinder? br
That is the way to teach
Looks good, that's all that matters
How about using a projector instead?
I have worked with these type of virtual backgrounds using ultra short throw projectors. They have the advantage of enabling to shoot on a big 4 meter wide background but they are very susceptible to spill. Indeed using a lot of flags was crucial for those kind of setups pretty much what you are doing here.
Does this same principle apply to scenes at the beach? If your scene is taking place on the east coast, should you establish the ocean being screen right? Do our brains need that? And why does my brain need this question answered? 😩
If in the same movie there is a scene on the east and west coast then yes actually.
isn't this the same idea with unreal engine backgrounds onto massive led curved screens replacing green screen sets in film?
Nice film :)
Thank you for creating this video. I feel the same.
0:56 SIGMA?!
Yes
@@EpicLightMedia ermmm what the sigma
very informative
Couldn't you use something like a laser projector where the throw is very short to achieve the same thing but without the bezels? Plus the added benefit of not as many reflections as a TV.
Very nice setup. Looks great and vastly improves your post processing time
Could Andrew make a video on the techniques he uses to make the color and lighting realistic in DaVinci? Thanks!
A 4k laser projector would be a great investment.
In my opinion, your worries are directed to who do art as a job, but no A.I. will block you to learn something or do something just for the enjoying of the process. I call it "the Knockers-Up effect": in the past, people were paid to knock up at your house early in the morning; then alarm clocks were sold at a cheap price for everyone... It's the life, it's evolution.
This channel is like the Bible.
Soon, you just prompt a Sora for the purpose and nobody will realize it’s not actual talent speaking the script.
